Colours have the power to cause feelings. By means of their use we can make the work environment more pleasant or mitigate less favourable situations, such as the monotony of certain tasks. The state of mind, at the end of the work day is certainly going to depend on the influence of the environment.
Colour is one of the lowest investment resources to promote changes in the work space and its appropriate use can be reflected in an increase of productivity or even the reduction of the rate of absenteeism in companies.
Here are some tips:
Cold colours are associated with relaxation, tranquility, calmness and professionalism. Amongst the most indicated are the blues and greens (light shades), which bring calmness and don’t tire the eyes. They are also associated with seriousness and efficiency. They are ideal for those that work many hours in the same environment, for functions that require concentration and for activities with a lot of detail, as well as for offices and meeting rooms.
Warm colours are associated with vitality, energy, dynamism and joy. Amongst the most indicated are yellow, which leads to creativity and relaxation, or to serenity, if applied in a light shade. Red and orange, associated with emotion, should preferably be used in decorative objects and not on the wall, seeing as its excess can increase the feeling of stress. Warm shades are ideal for environments with greater movement where it isn’t necessary to remain for long periods of time.
